I stayed here for two nights while on business in the area, and I am impressed, the hotel is situated on the edge of an extensive village green, in a large conservation village. There was a small car park at the rear, however the on street parking is plentiful and unrestricted. Inside the reception area was pleasant and decorated and furnished as you would expect of a country house hotel. All the rooms appeared to be on the first floor, there was a lift if required. The room key was an electronic swipe card, touch it on the door lock and you are in!
My room was booked as a superior room and was at the back of the hotel, overlooking a small glade, there was a desk under the window, and the sash window opened fully rather than having a corporate health and safety restraint, thank you ! there was a King size bed with a large fixed headboard, which was very comfortable, the bed that is not the headboard!. The Room was decorated in a dark olive colour with matching dark Wood furniture which appeared to be all of good Quality . The shower room was small but perfectly formed, tiled throughout and finished to a high standard it sported a double size cubicle with glass screen.
I ate at the hotel on both nights of my stay and the food was excellent varied and of a good quality, in the morning there was a buffet selection fruit pastries Juice Etc. The cooked selection was made to order, the scrabbled egg and smoked salmon was superb.
Lastly a final point on the staff, all the staff I encountered were pleasant, friendly well presented and professional without being prim.
My only slight negative is some of the area's were a bit dark due to the extensive use of dark colours.
Congratulation to all concerned, I will certainly be back. less
