When we called to book a room, from the road, we were told that this hotel had undergone a renovation. The room was a bit more pricey than we would have liked but we thought, "what the heck, a renovated hotel will be nice". Boy, were we wrong! The elevator was old and cranky and the carpets in the hallways were old and stained and smelly! There were toe big bags of garbage outside one of the rooms on our floor, and they were still there hours later. We did not get any sleep for doors banging and people coming and going all hours of the night. We could hear every word spoken in the room next door and the TV was on past 3 am. We called the front desk and they did come up and tell them to keep it down, but really, they should have the right to watch TV, as they are paying guests also. I cannot understand why they don't sound proof hotel rooms better. This could have been done while they were "renovating". We had a nine hour drive the next day and we had not slept! Check in and out staff were very indifferent. Breakfast was average. less
