I'll admit it. This was the last night of our 2-week road trip coming into Los Angeles and I was road weary. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a motel so picked this one as it was right off the freeway. Little did I know it was smack dab next to the railroad tracks! When checking in, I had to sign all sorts of waivers including one stating the motel was not responsible for any damage to our car or any items that may be taken from it. What had I gotten us into? We hauled nearly every item in our car up to our room (which is a lot after 2 weeks on the road) and hoped for the best. Settled in and dog tired, we decided to zone out and watch something on the TV. Clicker didn't work; TV didn't work. We pulled out the dresser (quite hesitant to see what was behind that dresser) to find the TV was simply unplugged. Clicker still didn't work. Too tired to complain to the management, just stared at the screen till sleep befell me. We ran the fan in the heat/ac unit under the window so we wouldn't hear the trains going by. Best sleep I had in 2 weeks, I kid you not! However, next time I'll round the bend on Hwy 15, shell out more money, and stay in one of the newer motels on the southwest side of town. less
