We stayed one night after travelling all day and flying into Manchester. The hotel is easy to find, a bit more difficult to see when you get there in the dark, as the entrance to the car park isnt lit up. The receptionist was lovely and friendly, but the restaurant / room service shut at 2130hrs, which was unfortunate at 2200hrs. The room was 140 and was a tad small - but for a night, it was no big deal. The double bed was 2x singles hooked together, and as hard as sleeping directly on the divan. Again, for a night it was do-able. However, its not acceptable when you're woken up by someone drilling into a wall opposite you at 0800hrs and when you come out of the room there is an electric extension cable ran across the door - no warning signs, not told about it at reception the night before (i'd rather have drove the 2.5hrs in heavy rain to get home), no yellow label to draw your attention to the cable or even a note under the door. Not being the steadiest person due to a disability, I wasnt a happy person when I exited the room, tripped over the cable and ripped the plug from the socket! The breakfast was nice and adequate, the staff helpful and pleasant and truly couldnt fault them - but after tripping over such an obvious health and safety error; I wasnt the happiest client they've had. Without such a error, I would have marked it a 3star. I normally like Best Western, but wont be staying at the Cresta again. less
