Saturday 14th May 2016, Room 102
Me and my parents previously stayed at the Cresta Court Hotel 2 years ago for a christening and was given a family room, (two rooms attached). We were visiting the area again for another christening and decided to stay in the same hotel. We booked a double room with a single bed as we were told all the family rooms were fully booked. When we arrived and checked in, carried our luggage up to the room, we were surprised with a very spacious 2 room, with a double, 2 singles and 2 pull out sofas. So it turned out we received the same room. Bonus!!
This hotel is close to the town centre of Altrincham, and was a 5 minute drive to the church and party venue. So was the perfect location for where we needed to be. You are greeted with a nice modern looking reception area.
The receptionist was very helpful with places to eat in the surrounding area providing us with a map and list of descriptions. Due to it being late on a Saturday evening, we had no success in finding a free table in any restaurants in the area, so ended up back at the hotel. We was told dining was in the bar area due to a very noisy function. Over all the food was excellent. Although I wasn't so keen on the choice of desserts. We were served by a lovely lady with blonde hair and glasses.
I was very impressed with the amount of space in the family room (102), which was shared by the 3 of us. Although looking at other reviews and pictures. Standard double rooms look very tight and claustrophobic. The only suggestion I'd make for improvement in the family room is having a bedside table for the twin single beds. There was also no bottled water or biscuits, only tea and coffee was available. Overall if the rooms were as modern as the reception area it would be a lovely looking hotel!
Personally I slept excellently. I thought the bed was very comfortable. My Mum however had a bad night. Although she is a light sleeper, she did find the function room below to be very noisy till quite late. Staff were then heard hoovering and cleaning the room afterwards until the early hours.
I found the room to be far too warm with the window closed, and if it was opened it would be far too noisy next to a busy road (which is expected). But I will add 2 fans were provided in the room.
In the morning getting ready was quite difficult as the light in the room was very dim. Cleanliness overall was good. The room was a little dated with a dirty looking carpet.
Breakfast in the morning was a buffet. There was a nice selection to choose from. Fruits, nuts and yoghurts, cheeses and ham, pastries, cereal and cooked breakfast. The hot food was cold, the bacon was a little undercooked and extremely fatty. The toast machines were rubbish and I found you had to put your toast through at least 3 times before it even looked cooked, but still wasn't hot. This wasn't great with a queue behind you.
The christening wasn't until 12.30, and we kindly allowed to have a later check out time to suit our arrangements.
Overall we had a very pleasant stay, the staff were all nice, polite and helpful. We would definitely stay again. less
