14/11/2016 Sue G,

Stayed here while my home was being made wheelchair accessible. The room was comfortable and worked well even though my 28" wide wheelchair didn't quite fit through the bathroom door. All of the staff... more

Noisy and Old

13/11/2016 Ruperto, Victoria

This was one of the noisiest hotels we have ever stayed in. The old timber frame structure transmits noise from the adjacent highway, between rooms, corridors and floors. The heating and refrigerato... more

Thank you for your opinion. Here is the history about the hotel. It as constructed in 1980 out of concrete & steel beams with 8" walls. A standard then & a standard now. The heating units in the rooms are 1.5 years old & the mini fridge's are 2 years old. The Cowichan Valley is a huge hockey/sports town. Just to name a few big hockey players that have come for Duncan: Greg Adams, Geoff Courtnall, Brad Palmer, Matt Ellison, Robin Bawa and there are more. There are 4 arena's within 5 - 20 minutes from our hotel & we always welcome the teams with open arms. Every long weekend from the fall to spring our hotel will be booked with hockey families. Enjoy your week.

Service provided by male bartender in the pub was atrocious!

First of all I want to apologize for what you experienced. The Food & Beverage side of the hotel is leased out by another company but do have to adhere to the Best Western rules. In speaking with them we have identified training that must be done and will be doing so in the next few weeks. We hope you will return in the future & that your next experience will be a positive one.

Unimpressed with internet, and noisy

31/10/2016 Lauren S,

This hotel is located right off the highway, so it can get rather noisy at night time. The hotel was completely booked solid so I was unable to switch rooms - no earplugs provided or sold at the kiosk... more

Thank you for your review. The highway traffic is something unfortunately we cannot control hence the noise. We do have complimentary ear plugs available at our front desk for people who are light sleeper. Our internet is has been great up until a few weeks ago when there was an upgrade. Our IT company has since identified the problem, which was a hardware upgrade. The hardware is being replaced today and we will be upgrading to the Business 150 by the end of the month. So we hope you will stay with us in the future and your experience will be great one.
