My husband and I took my mother-in-law for a birthday treat-spa treatment, hotel stay with 3 course dinner and breakfast included. The spa was fine but some of the staff definitely had better efficiency and people skills than others (buck up males!). The pool was a good size and temperature and there was also a sauna, steam room and whirlpool with plenty of chairs and loungers when I visited.
In the hotel, room 105 has side views of the gardens and the rooms were clean, warm and comfortable with everything you could need at hand. I particularly liked the full-sized cups and generous sized toiletries.
The menu for the evening meal had a good variety and was all tasty, generous and nicely presented. Our waitress, Emily, was lovely, very knowledgeable, professional and fun, thank you!
The gardens were lovely, much bigger than the photos show, with lots of different pathways to explore. The pond area had daffodils, crocuses and snowdrops all blooming around it when we went. I can imagine it would be a beautiful spot to have afternoon tea or hold a wedding reception when the weather is warmer. less
