There isn't a fairly good option but customer service is excellent for guests.
Booked this hotel through bookings.com which gave me, what I thought was a very reasonable price for a three day Wednesday to Friday stay. In what they referred to as an executive room with breakfast.
I wasn't initially impressed as after making the booking, our family had to attend a family funeral and neither booking.com or the hotel were particularly helpful with trying to rearrange the day. The hotel stuck fast to its booking policy and refused to change a date for us. This is understandable but future guests should be aware that, in this respect the hotel is not very helpful.
The hotel itself is on the seafront with good views of the sea – a short tram ride or longer walk will get you to Blackpool Tower and all the attractions. We went during the Illuminations and our room offered us a fair view of what was outside. The hotel has a carpark outside the front which whilst is not large managed to accommodate about 25 cars and a coach. Upon entering the hotel there is the front desk, bar and restaurant all on the ground floor. I can’t stress how helpful the staff were during our stay. They interacted with our toddler, they had provided and set up a travel cot for our room. When asked they provided glasses of milk for our child free of charge. The hotel has complementary wifi which from our experience was fairly fast and strong in our room.
Our room – the executive room with sea view was on the second floor at the front of the hotel. It was fairly small, especially with the travel cot, though was quite well equipped with the standard fare of LCD TV, kettle with brew kits, heater etc. The standout features of the bedroom would have to be the USB plugs built into the plug sockets – though they did not provide a fast charge. The sea view was disappointing as it was only from a small triangular bay window. The bed was very firm but we coped. The bathroom was also well appointed though in need of some slight repairs – cracked tiles. The shower/bath system was most unusual with four taps on the wall, two for hot and cold water; the others for turning on the shower or the bath. Would have preferred a simple mixer tap. There was a small and seemingly unnecessary step into the bathroom which we stubbed ourselves on several times.
I can’t comment on the quality of the evening meals, though from looking at the menu they seemed to be reasonable priced. The breakfast was typical of a chain hotel. Hot plates contained the components of a full English and a conveyor toaster attempts to toast bread – though fails miserably. There is also juices, tea coffee and fruit. Once again the staff were helpful for the most part.
Overall – it was not the best stay in a hotel we have had – though it is miles above the worst. We would stay again but we won’t bother paying for the exec room.
