Bit like a Travel Lodge, lots of businessmen staying the one night, breakfasts 7 till 9 and felt quite uncomfortable finishing my breakfast whilst tables were being polished. I do not want to get up early on holiday! Owners are really nice, very front of house, shown to our room in the courtyard. Hotel is excellent for exploring Norfolk/ Suffolk area.
Room was in need of an upgrade, dark brown carpet, one of the chairs had very worn arms. Bedside light not working but sorted as soon as it was mentioned. Huge comfortable bed, plenty of hot water for the shower.Did find some hairs in the wash basin and also in the bed!
Huge breakfast, advise you not to order everything! We were on half board and menu did not really change much, just small differences eg melon, melon with parma ham [although mine was missing when it arrived and had to ask for it] or melon balls for the three night we were guests.Belly of prk on all three nights. We went to the bar menu last night and had a super steak. Excellent cooking and presentation throughout. Bar is cosy and you can eat there or in the modern restaurant.
Our dog was made welcome and there is a field for late night visits. Somewhere to put the poo bags would have been appreciated ! Overall, a family run hotel with good food and ideal for travelling around Norfolk/ Suffolk if you do not mind being the only woman in the restaurant during the week!
