Arrived at the hotel and was greeted by a very friendly member of staff who gave us a free room upgrade and showed us around. The hotel has decent free wifi and you have access to a little gym and spa area. Our room was clean, light and airy with modern furniture, comfy bed, a large tv and an en suite with a huge shower.
The only things that let it down was traffic noise (a little loud considering how much they charge for rooms, but nothing that would put us off) and the breakfast which was, it has to be said, pretty disappointing considering they say they've had awards for the food. For £9.95 the full english portion, while mostly tasty, was a tad on the mean side, and our toast arrived already cold. We didn't feel there was a great deal of choice on the continental buffet side either, the small choice of pastries were a little sad looking and soggy and the staff didn't hurry to refill anything that had run out - not quite the slick service we expected from a Best Western hotel.
Overall, I'd say the hotel itself, the facilities and the reception staff was lovely but the food definitely wasn't up to scratch considering how much we paid and compared to other places we've visited in the area. less
