One nice front desk clerk, and one that should not be in customer service.

So, I checked in to this property last night. The front desk clerk was amiss but a sign present said they'd be back in 5 minutes. Not too bad. She was quite friendly and efficient, and got me checked in pretty quickly. The room I was assigned on the 2nd floor had garbage in the garbage cans and one slightly mussed up bed. Back down I went. Waited a few moments while she was helping other guests and quietly mentioned the issue. She apologized and said it had "been quite a day" and she would have words with housekeeping. Room number 2 was ok. No issues. When checking out this morning I was met by another person who walked out into the reception area while talking to a co worker, and she dropped the s**t word right in front of me. Thought that was a little...crass. I mentioned my issue from the night before and my minor inconvenience, but said the rest of my stay was pleasant. She told me I had received a 10% discount, which I had when I booked the room. (AAA member and Diamond Select member with BW). I had thought they'd either give me a small discount or offer some additional points toward my stay. She was rude and abrasive, I honestly can't say different. Customer service means listening to a guest and offering a happy solution when reasonable, not greeting the guest with attitude. less
