A really good mid-range hotel that's among the best in Big Bear. The room was really large and had some interesting french country furnishings, and most importantly, a gas fireplace that livened up the room. There was a nice balcony with a view through the trees of a parking lot. The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub and shower combo. The hotel is conveniently located mid-way between both Big Bear ski mountains.
While the room was comfortable, the walls were thin. Our neighbors' conversation came straight through the wall. And their simple talking at 10:30 pm and 5:30am was pretty annoying. Don't forget your earplugs. Our room was on the top floor, and even walking barefoot caused the floor to creak, so I would not advise rooms on the ground floor.
Exhausted after a day of skiing, we were hoping to eat in the hotel lounge-restaurant- only open Fridays, Saturdays and Holidays. But the menu was pretty much burgers and sandwiches so we walked a block to the Black Diamond Tavern. The included breakfast was good and quite extensive. less
