Spent a night at Best Western Aberavon Beach Hotel with my wife and two children (11 & 8).
I was one of two Best Men at my brother's wedding. The reception was held in the building nextdoor. The Bride and Groom also had a room booked at the Best Western Aberavon Beach Hotel.
From the outside the hotel doesn't look much, maybe even a little ugly but as soon as you step through the entrance, you are greeted by very pleasant surroundings and incredibly accommodating staff.
THE ACCOMMODATION. My family stayed in two rooms ajoined by a doorway. The kids had a double bed each in their room. The rooms are very clean, the beds are very comfortable and both rooms had very large TVs with many channels to choose from. The usual brew kit is present. Our room had a view from the rear if the hotel, towards local housing estate but wasn't too unpleasant. The Bride and Groom's room had a lovely view of the beach.
LOCATION. Right on a long sandy beach. The beach is clean and free of tourists. Ideal for taking the dog for a walk. The hotel accepts pets. Located about 5 minutes drive from the M4 corridor with quick access to Swansea in one direction and Cardiff in the other.
CUSTOMER SERVICE. 10 out of 10. Excellent customer service. The staff are friendly and enormously helpful. One of the reception staff offered to lend me her own umbrella. At breakfast, the staff agreed to make an acceptuon for the Bride and Groom and delivered breakfast to their room, as the other Best Man had gone away with the key to the Bride and Groom's car, in which their change of clothes were locked away.
FOOD. We had breakfast which offered cooked, cerials and continental. The cooled breakfast was delicious but I could have done with a larger plate as I could have ate it again.
This is a fantastic hotel, which I plan to revisit. It may not look much from the outside but the inside offers more than expected, including a nice swimming pool. less
