There were lower-priced hotels, but I heard that they had issues with bedbugs and even call girls... Not only did it seem shady, I was too tired to be woken up for ANY reason, so I was willing to pay a little extra to sleep through the night.
After I showered and wound down, I turned on the heat in #109 and it was EXTREMELY noisy. I usually put up with small issues to avoid hassle, but this time I wanted to switch rooms, but they refused since I apparently should've told them within 15 minutes of check-in, when other hotels would've switched rooms even if it was 2 hours to checkout.
Also, I wanted to unwind a bit and turn on the TV, not to mention drown out the noises made by the HVAC... No TV; it was almost as if it was blinking in Morse Code when I turned it on.
Also I may sound crazy, but as confirmed by 2 clairvoyant friends, there was a presence in the room. I had an uneasy feeling the whole time I was there, but I just thought I was too tired. However, as I was falling asleep, I was woken up by what distinctly sounded like things dropping in the room twice: First time was the TV's plug that I put in the trash can for some reason, but it was now on the floor. The 2nd sounded like something plastic falling, but I never found out what it was... My friend gave me a bit of advice on how to coax it into leaving, but I could still sense it was there and giving me the willies, so I checked out at 2 AM and slept in my car at a truck stop (I'm cheap LOL)... I fell right asleep. less
