Beamish Hall Hotel.

At the 4-star Beamish Hall Hotel BW Premier Collection by Best Western, you'll find delightful accommodation, close to Newcastle upon Tyne and Durham. However, this classic country house hotel is a desirable destination in itself, set in a vast 24 acres of manicured gardens in the beautiful English countryside. The hotel boasts an 18th century stable block on site, that's home to a pub, restaurant and microbrewery. The brewery produces 8 premium quality ales and even offers tours explaining how these delicious ales go from keg to mouth.

An Edwardian tearoom can also be found in the hotel, serving quintessentially British afternoon teas. For a little adventure in the countryside, the Beamish Wild Outdoor Adventure Park and High Ropes Course just so happens to be located in the hotel grounds, so why not test your nerve of the zip wires and Powerfan freefall.

This 13th Century Country House hotel in Beamish has been lovingly restored to include all the modern comforts you could need. However, you can be rest assured its not lost any of its traditional grandeur or heritage. There are stunning period features, including ornate ceilings, carved oak fireplaces, chandeliers, stained glass windows and a sweeping staircase. These elegant structures are found in all of the reception rooms, and simply must be taken advantage of for elegant wedding affairs. The dedicated team of wedding staff will do everything they can to ensure you day is just as perfect as the venue.

At the Best Western, you'll be just a 25-minute drive from Newcastle, a huge centre for business, with a wealth of attractions and a bustling nightlife. Durham is also 25 minutes away so why not head to Romanesque Durham Cathedral and 13th-century Durham castle, waiting to be explored in this romantic city?

Short stay for weddong

20/05/2019 ScampinIzzy, Whangarei, New Zealand

This venue is not really a place to stay for leisure, although it has a quirky Sharm. The venue is mainly for weddings; almost exclusively for weddings. We were here for a family wedding which was... more

Dear Ashleigh, Thank you for the review. I will look in to your comments about the staff as this is totally against what Beamish Hall is about, as you will see from other reviews. If you would like to contact me direct to discuss these matters, please do so as I'm left a little confused because all of our recent weddings have given us excellent feedback, particularly about our staff and service. I am certainly not brushing off your comments as our customer service is priority one. Kind Regards

Dear Violetvee, Thank you for your review and your kind comments about the gardens and the restaurant. To follow up on your other comments, the rooms here at Beamish Hall are with period furniture in keeping with the building, I would also like to assure you that every mattress has been renewed, though of course, they are a personal preference. I understand we still have areas that are undergoing a refurbishment, I assume this is what you refer to. I would like to assure you that all of our guests are a priority, not just the weddings. We have to allocate areas to our events otherwise a bride could find unwanted guests at her wedding. In England, Best Western guests have the opportunity to book room only, as some people do not require the breakfast facility, I apologise if this was unclear at the time of booking, though you could have booked it on arrival. I agree, the road down to the Hall from the museum is a twisting narrow road, but it is tarmac. With regard to your final point, most hotels in the North of England do not have AC, I only wish we had the weather for it. For those lovely summer days we do provide fans in the bedrooms. Again, thank you for your feedback, I hope that you have enjoyed your stay here in the UK. Kind Regards
