A beautiful building, sympathetically extended and set in glorious gardens. The public areas are lovely, but the decor in the rooms and the bathrooms is very tired. The Stables Restaurant is very nicely appointed, and although the food is nothing special it’s not unpleasant.
The breakfast on the first morning was delicious. Unfortunately, on the second morning it was dreadful, we waited over half an hour and when it finally came it was practically inedible. We declined an alternative choice as we’d run out of time. The internet connection in all areas is really poor. There’s a very conferency feel about the whole place, although goodness knows how they manage with such poor internet.
Doubt we’d stay again, such a shame as the building deserves better. less

Thank you very much for your feedback.
We are pleased that most aspects of your hotel stay were good but may we apologise for the shortfall you experienced at the Stables. Please note that this is not a regular occurrence. As you can see from previous reviews, the Stables is generally very highly regarded with our guests.
We do hope that you'd mentioned something when you were staying with us so we could have resolved any issues right away?
We're always working to try and improve our connectivity and WiFi throughout the building, and apologise that it wasn't working particularly well during the time of your stay with us.
