Ended up with a refund..
We actually ended up with a refund of around £80 due to the disappointing stay that we had at Beamish Hall.
I had booked the Lily feature room as we were very recently engaged as well as my partners 30th birthday.
I ordered Prosecco for the room pre-arrival, breakfast and booked dinner at the restaurant for the evening of our arrival.
When we arrived, we waited around 10-15 minutes to be checked in. When we finally got to our room, the room was nice, although didnt look anything like the photos on the website and certainly not worth the £266 I was paying for the night. One of the windows had a giant crack and needed to be replaced, the room was freezing cold upon arrival and had to request the heating was switched on. There was a lot of dust on the window ledge (could sit on the window ledge). The room had furniture missing, which seemed odd and as I had explained the reason for the stay, therefore asking to make it as special as possible - we were treated quite poorly. We called down for some soft drinks and snacks around 9/10pm and was told we could get coca cola but no snacks as they didn't do any or any kind of room service - which also seemed odd?
When the drinks did arrive, they were very flat!
Upon check out, we were asked how our stay was and my fiancée was honest and explained how disappointed we both were - the receptionist was apologetic and gave me a £70 refund. Unfortunately, receiving the refund still didn't make us feel any better, the disappointment was already upon us.
Sadly, my fiancées 30th and our engagement wasn't ideal at Beamish Hall Hotel. Unsure if we'll return, certainly not at that price in such a poor room with poor service. less
