As many positive reviews as I see about this place, it sure isn't representing my overall experience. Pre-Covid, I would have given this place a 5, but now that the CDC, states, counties, cities, and corporations are all individually deciding what is safe for everyone, in addition to what is just safe practice, I cannot rate this place anything above a 1 due to rules not being followed regarding face coverings.
This is a Best Western affiliated hotel, which means that they are supposed to represent Best Western's reputation and follow their rules. It is stated on Best Western's website that face coverings are required in public indoor spaces. That statement is a blanket statement and means everyone, especially staff, need to have face coverings. On more than one day, I observed MANY guests NOT wearing any face covering in the lobby and breakfast area. Not once did I see or hear any staff members asking guests to put on a face covering. Also, every time I saw the manager, they were observed not wearing a face covering at all. I saw someone else interacting daily with the manager who was not wearing a face covering and also approaching guests closer than recommended distance. I also observed a housekeeper not wearing a face covering in the hallway as I walked by them.
Staff members need to follow the rules themselves in order to set the example for guests to also follow the rules. Staff need to enforce the rules by telling guests to put face coverings on. Management also needs to follow the rules. I stayed at a Hilton right after this stay and I observed all staff wearing face coverings and also observed staff telling guests to wear face coverings. Safe practice can be done, if the staff follow the rules and tell others to follow the rules. If anyone cannot follow the rules, they can be refused service and asked to leave. less
