Do my Best Western Rewards points expire?

Best Western Rewards points never expire, so you can earn and redeem your points any time you like.

Do I receive a membership card when I first enrol?

If you are a Blue Best Western Rewards member you can download your virtual card from the beginning of February. If you would prefer a physical card you can order one by logging into your online account and click on ‘My Profile’. Your card can take up to 3 weeks to arrive.

What are the benefits of the new Gold and Diamond Select elite levels?

Gold elite members will receive 10% bonus points. Diamond Select members will receive 50% bonus points, in addition to other exclusive benefits. Your stays after 1st January 2016 will count towards qualification of these new elite levels.

If I qualify for the new Gold and Diamond Select Elite levels in 2015 will I automatically be upgraded in January 2016?

The qualification period for the new membership tiers begins on 1st January 2016. As soon as you hit the required number of nights, stays or points to qualify for the next tier level you will automatically be upgraded and a card sent out to you.

What does a room upgrade consist of?

Platinum, Diamond and Diamond Select Members may receive at the time of check-in, the hotel’s best available room. Assignment of the Best Available Room is within the sole discretion of the hotel, and may include rooms with desirable views, rooms on high floors, corner rooms, rooms with special amenities or those in proximity to special amenities, or suites. This benefit applies only to the guest room occupied by the elite level Member. This is not available at BW Premier Collection hotels.

What should I expect for my recognition gift?

Platinum, Diamond and Diamond Select Members will receive a recognition gift of at the minimum a bottle of water and fresh fruit or another snack item.

Can I add another person to my account?

No. Each Best Western Rewards membership account is uniquely owned by an individual.

Can I match my status with a competing loyalty programme?

With our status match programme, we will match your elite status in any other hotel loyalty programme, FREE of charge.

Does Diamond for Life still exist as a membership tier?

As of 1st January 2016, the Diamond for Life tier will be replaced by the new Diamond Select tier. If you are already a Diamond for Life member or reach this tier by 31st December 2015, you will automatically become a Diamond Select member and receive the great new benefits that come with this tier.

You will never be downgraded from this tier, unlike members who reach the Diamond Select tier after 1st January 2016, and you will retain your Diamond Select perks and privileges forever.

How do I earn Best Western Rewards points?

Best Western Rewards members earn 10 points for every $1USD you spend on your qualifying rate booked when staying in any one of our independently owned hotels worldwide. Points cannot be earned on restaurant meals or any extra spend at the hotel.

What are qualifying/non-qualifying rates?

All rate plans not listed below are eligible for Best Western Rewards points:

Stays booked through online travel agencies, such as priceline.com, expedia.com, travelocity.com, booking.com, kayak.com (i.e., channels other than Best Western branded booking channels);

Stays booked through tour operators; and

Stays booked at special discounted rates, such as employee rates, FIT/wholesale/net rates, group bookings/bus rates, crew rates, BWR free night awards rates (FX rates), or discounted rates for stays longer than thirty (30) nights.

Can I earn points on all bookings no matter where I book?

To earn Rewards points on your stays you need to book through the Best Western website, call centre, directly through the hotel or through a Travel management Company on a qualifying rate plan. Bookings through Online Travel Agents (OTAs) are NOT eligible for Rewards points, unless it is your first Best Western booking and you enrol at the hotel during your stay. In this instance 500 points will be credited for this booking only. This restriction includes but is not limited to Booking.com, Bookit.com, Expedia, Getaroom (GAR) Hotels.com, Hotwire.com, Lastminute.com, Orbitz, Priceline, Agoda, Hotel.de, Laterooms.com

Can I earn Best Western Rewards points for reservations booked online?

Simply log in to your Rewards account before making your booking or add your Rewards number when prompted when making your booking.

Will I receive points if I pay for my stay with a Best Western Travel Card?

Yes, you will earn points or Airline Miles when you pay with a Best Western Travel Card as long as you stay on a qualifying rate.

How do I earn Airline Miles?

To earn Airline Miles, simply log in to your online account and change your earning preference under ‘My Profile’ and ‘Communication Preferences’.

Can I receive both Airline Miles and Best Western Rewards points for a stay?

You can earn either Best Western Rewards points OR Airline Miles for your stay. Your designated earning preference (points or Airline Miles) will be credited accordingly for each stay. You may change your earning preference logging into your online account and updating your earning preference under ‘My Profile’ and ‘Communication Preferences’.

If I book more than one room at a Best Western for the same night, will I earn points for each room?

Best Western will issue points for up to 3 rooms booked by the same member for the same night provided that the member pays for all of the rooms at a qualifying rate.

If I book more than one room at a Best Western for the same night, will I earn points for each room?

Please allow up to 7 days for points or Airline Miles to post to your account. Airline Miles can take up to two statement cycles to appear on your partner account. Be sure to show your card upon check-in to help speed up the posting of Best Western Rewards points or Airline Miles. If you have stayed at a Best Western and would like to enquire about missing points or Airline Miles, please log into your Rewards account and complete a Missing Points/Miles form.

What do I do if I'm missing points or Airline Miles from a recent stay?

If you provided your Best Western Rewards card or membership number at the time of your Best Western stay please allow at least 7 days for points or Airline Miles to be posted to your account. If more than 7 days have passed since your departure date and points or Airline Miles are not posted to your account, log in to your account and fill out the Missing Points/Miles form. For new members, points/Airline Miles will be credited for any qualifying Best Western Rewards stay occurring within 30 days prior to enrolment in the Programme.
PLEASE NOTE: Stays over 6 months old cannot be reviewed for points or miles.

What is the Best Western Travel Card?

The Best Western Travel Card can be used at over 4,000 Best Western hotels throughout the world; they NEVER expire, and make a great gift for someone special.

How long does it take to receive my award?

Please allow up to 7 business days for delivery of virtual gift cards. All other awards can take up to 21 days to be delivered.

What do I do if I have not received my award after the expected delivery date?

Are there restrictions on where I can redeem my points for hotel stays?

You can redeem your points for hotel stays worldwide in over 80 different countries. Free nights range from 8,000 to 36,000 points, depending on the month, property and location. Best Western Rewards members must have the necessary number of points to complete a free night based on the hotel’s individual point tier level. Search for hotels using your Best Western Rewards points by logging into your account. Should you not have the required amount of points for the stay upon arrival, you will be required to pay the prevailing rate.

Have the number of points required for free night redemptions increased?

Point’s levels required for free night stays will be adjusted to vary by month. While certain hotels may require more points at certain times of the year, the overall number of points required for redemption is expected to decrease.

What happens if I booked a free night stay using my points before 1st January 2016 for a stay in 2016?

All free night stays booked before 1st January 2016 for a stay in 2016 will be honoured at the point level booked, whether this is higher or lower than the new 2016 free night point level.

Will I still receive breakfast as part of my free night stay?

As of 1st January 2016 breakfast will no longer be included in the free night stay redemption, but can be paid for separately with the hotel.

Has the number of rooms available for free night redemption increase?

Yes—as part of these changes, every Best Western branded hotel will make a certain portion of its rooms available for free night redemption, meaning there will be increased availability for free night stays giving you more opportunities to get away.

Can I transfer points to another Best Western Rewards account?

Yes. Points can be transferred between accounts that share the same physical address. To arrange a point transfer, please contact our Rewards Team at rewards@bestwestern.co.uk
