Holidays are back! But, if your booking skills are a bit rusty, never fear, we’re here to help with our very own roadmap to rediscovering travel to help inspire your breaks over the coming months and make the rest of 2021 a year to remember.

Let’s get started…

Phase 1: Take a trip to see family or friends

If there are some special someones you’ve not seen enough of in the past year now’s the chance to reconnect and make new memories. And what better way to do that than by enjoying a few days of quality time together?

Let them show you all the local hotspots they discovered during lockdown or pick a spot halfway between your homes and explore somewhere new.

Phase-1

Phase 2: Explore a city

Shopping ‘til you drop, wining and dining and getting a culture fix in world-beating museums and galleries are all now back on the cards and it’s time for Britain’s cities to shine.

Whether you fancy a romantic retreat in York, an arty escape in Bristol or a historic adventure in Oxford, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to city breaks.

Take a look at some of our favourites.

Phase-2

Phase 3: Revisit your favourite place

Is there a special holiday spot you’ve been missing? The beach with the best ice-creams for miles? The gallery you could spend hours exploring? The theme park the kids always beg to visit? It’s time to get reacquainted with your favourite destinations.

Got more than one? Why not plan a roadtrip and tick off as many as you can in a week?

Phase-3

Phase 4: Visit somewhere new

Craving something a bit different? There are plenty of off the beaten track destinations across Britain to explore. Why not visit Cramond Island, a tidal island just a few miles from the heart of Edinburgh, or try a different type of beach break on Northumberland’s castle-lined coast?

Phase-4

Alternatively, you can visit one of the many brilliant new attractions which have opened their doors in recent months.

Phase 5: Go on a last-minute getaway

There’s been little opportunity for spontaneity over the past year so next time the weather forecast’s looking good or you find yourself with a free few days, why not throw a some bits in the suitcase and head off on a last minute break?

For extra excitement, don’t think too hard about the destination – just close your eyes and pick a spot on a map of the UK. With over 260 hotels across Great Britain, we’re sure to have one nearby ready and waiting.

Phase-5

Phase 6: Tick something off your bucket list

One of the biggest lockdown lessons for many of us was how important it is to seize the day and not put off doing things you’ve always wanted. So why not make 2021 the year you tick something off your experience wish list? Whether you fancy wild swimming, Michelin-starred dining, star-gazing or surfing, let’s make this a year to remember for the right reasons…
