I stayed at this property with 5 other members of my work team. 5 of the 6 of us encountered problems with our rooms and we all experienced problems with the quality of water in the hotel. Some found trash left in their rooms by prior occupants, several of us had dirty linens left in our rooms. The toilet did not work in my first room and worked improperly in the 2nd room. The water softener at the hotel did not work one morning leaving the water smelling like sulfur and making the coffee in the breakfast area taste salty. The front desk staff as less than helpful when presented with problems to the point of being almost rude. There were so many problems with what my team experienced and what we overheard other guests experiencing that we have recommended that my company not send any more people to this location. less

Dear Trailblazer -
Thank you for sharing your experience with us! I have read about some of the challenges you encountered during your stay and am certainly surprised - and disappointed - that they were not brought to my attention during your visit?
That being said - certainly there can be no excuse for a less than orderly room. I am working with our housekeeping heads and engineering staff to uncover just where - and in what specific areas - we failed so as we can prevent them from happening in the future!
The water aspect of your stay has been more difficult to uncover. I have had both local plumbing and our water softener techs look over our system and not sure if it is a good thing or a bad thing - but we can not get it to replicate the scenario! The water in Fort Dodge is extremely hard so softeners are a must have piece of equipment - in fact - we have (5)! So, it is still unclear if there was a source problem or just a hiccup in the system, but thankfully, all is well currently!
As I mentioned in an earlier response - it is never comforting to learn we have lost a valued customer so we do hope that you will reconsider staying with us again! If not - we do hope you come back to our community. Along with our Award Winning property, Fort Dodge has several nice lodging choices, and I would be happy to help direct you to another great choice in the city - even though we are going to be just a little more biased about our own!
Warm regards -
