Best Western Scores Hotel

The Location is absolutely fabulous, sitting at the breakfast table and seeing the St Andrews club house outside about a short sand wedge away, and right there to the left is the First Tee, and the 18th Hole, Amazing sight! The personnel were all terrific and very helpful during our stay, and became very apologetic every day as during the 8 night stay the elevator broke, so for 5 long days it did not work, as new parts must come in from Germany. We climbed the stairs with a smile, it was cumbersome but things happens and an elevator out for such a long time is probably very rare. A super location where everything is within walking distance to anything you need to do while in St Andrews! I would love to return again to the same location. less

My wife and I stayed here recently whilst in St Andrews on a golfing holiday. The hotel location is superb - a stones throw away from the Old Course and an easy walk into the centre of the town. The hotel, however, is “tired” to say the least. Despite switching off the heating our room was very hot and when we tried to open the window it wouldn’t stay open - in the end, we had to wedge it open with the courtesy shoe clean box! The en-suite was ok, although the plastic toilet seat was too small for the toilet! Breakfast was alright - nothing special - but the service was amateurish. If Best Western were to invest in the hotel, bring it up to date and train the staff, the hotel could be really good. As it is, there are far better hotels available in the area at a similar price less

There Wednesday 10 July just after one pm with daughter and 3 grandchildren. Bar empty on arrival as it has been on the last 2 occasions we have visited. Met by a very rude bar maid. I think we interrupted her experience on the mobile phone. She could hardly tear herself away from it. First comment move your buggie even though we were the only ones in. No please of thank you. Do you want lunch you will have to go upstairs, we said no bar food fine we have been before. Waited an age for menus. Proceeded to order your can't order chips with each meal they are separate, I will give you 3 lots of chips. Table sticky had not been cleaned properly. Had to wait and age for bill to appear. Paid at the bar or we would still be there, still on mobile, huge sigh because we wanted to pay. I gave a 1 pound tip because I would feel bad not tipping took it promptly that was the fastest she had moved all lunch time. No thank-you given just grab it why don't you. Will not be back. Bill was a.most £38 daylight robbery in view of the service we had received. Did not enjoy felt we were a burden interuppting her online time. Outside as we left was talking to tourist wanting to order drink moaning about the weather. It was a lovely day. less

I stayed four nights at Scores . Elevator was broken & not fixed The whole time I was there . I had to climb 3 floors to reach my room . I had a knee surgery recently & it was not easy . The last day , the internet was out & even at reception 😳😬 . My Bedroom was not clean , the window glass & out was dirty . the carpet smelled & the toilet had no cover & till the last day , when a cheap plastic cover was installed . Seriously shameful !!!!! The property location is stunning , but needs good management & touch up . The reception staff were kind . Sad sad sad less

Located about a sand wedge away from the Old Course, but the main attraction is the friendly, helpful staff. Everyone was great but "Morgan" on the front desk was superb. He went the extra step constantly and even helped us plan the continuation of our trip (where to go/where to stay/what to see). He was fabulous as was Molly the Manager, her husband Hamish, and in fact absolutely everyone we interacted with. The breakfast was excellent (especially porridge with a shot of whisky). Everything was great. less
