this will be my second posted review of this hotel, Over the past 3-4 years i've stayed at this location numerous times (I'm currently a Best Western Platinum Rewards Member) and usually most stays go without incident (although they need to retrain the housekeeping staff in cleaning it's lacking AND there is always well not always but 90% of the time hair in the towels and or sheets, ugh). my stay from May 28th (1 night) was absolutely one of the worst hotels stays i can remember. I arrived at the hotel @12:30pm (the hotel front desk staff very indifferent) i did request a early check-in which is subject to availability. Male front desk agent advised me that my room was not ready & would be ready for at least an 1.5 hr (2pm), wasn't excited about that but i had a few things to pick up so i checked my bags and left. i returned to the hotel at 1:45pm front desk agent advised me that his system was down and couldn't check me in, 10 mins the other front desk agent alerted that a room was ready, (ok so here is where the story takes a turn for the worst ) she assigned me to room 604 (small cramped, dark room in the back of the hotel) dirty bed linens & construction debris (the hotel is in the midst or a remodel, redesign, construction of sorts- not advise at check in or the website) back to the front desk.... now i'm assigned room 1502 (AC doesn't work its a hot & humid day in NYC) one of the hotel staff has escorted me to the room and advise that most of the floors were in operable due to remodel/construction (pictures removed from the walls, chairs and things moved out of rooms) he told me to wait in the room he'd try to find me another room with working AC, 20 mins later he returns with keys for room 403 nice room and cool at this point after dragging my bags around the hotel i would stayed in any room i was exhausted and felt completely defeated. FYI the hotel is in front of an active construction zone that starts work @6am. I checked out of the hotel @8:30am. Will NOT be staying here again! travelers beware. less
