Called hotel receptionist, informed her (stated she was the manager) that I was night nurse at the local hospital working as first responder to COVID patients. I booked room for two days and asked if it would be okay if I check-in early due to night shift hours are 7p-7a. The receptionist stated the earliest I could possibly checkin wouldn't be until after 2pm (by this time it was 9am. I informed her that I have to get some rest for next night shift and asked if there could be any exceptions made and also informed for I would be willing to pay for to enter room early. She stated that the hotel was booked and cleaning service wouldnt start until checkout time which is 11am. After driving to hotel noticed the parking lot was bare. Asked to speak to manager. Which I found out that in fact she was not a manager at all. Canceled booking. Went to another hotel up the street and had no trouble checking in early. WHAT A RELIEF. less

Thank you for being a first responder and all the sacrifices you have made to help others. We try our best to allow early check ins, but on that day we were sold out and our housekeeping staff had not arrived to work and we’re due to arrive to work at 10am.
