Well, this hotel is a gem in the city of Peterborough! A lovely old mansion, sweeping staircase, loads of character and lovely staff. I stayed one night with my partner for a leisure break. From check in we were greeted warmly and the room was HUGE in comparison to others I have stayed in. High ceilings and immaculately maintained. The bed was massive and sooooo comfortable, I needed a mobile phone or walkie talkie to contact my other half! We had dinner in the (award winning) Huntly restaurant on site, and I cannot say how delicious my meal was, there are not enough words to describe it! I had steak on a colcannon mash and it was the best steak I had ever had! My partner had chicken which was so well presented and delicious also. As for the desserts......heaven!! I really would like to commend the staff, particularly Laura and Gemma on reception, and the girls in the restaurant. The surroundings are beautiful with over 20 acres of grounds we were free to walk around, and free high speed Wifi throughout the buildings. The onsite pub The Ramblewood Inn is the old stables and full of character. Food is good here too and real ale! I would definitely recommend a stay here and will return as soon as I can.
