While this place is a bit run down, it was still a good place to stay for our family. We appreciated the size of the room -- a 2 bedroom option converted from two previously single rooms into a large living area with kitchenette and two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Be aware, the bedrooms do not have their own doors -- they are open to the hall -- but they were both king-sized beds and were comfortable and good sized. We loved having two bathrooms (both with jetted tubs) and the size of the living area was great for our family. The living area also had a pull-out bed which we did use for some of our children. The kitchenette has sinks, a microwave, and a mini-fridge with a table that could seat four.
Our biggest downside was that when we first checked in our room smelled pretty strongly of marijuana, enough that it made us a bit nauseous. We didn't really want to stay in the room. We opened all the windows and turned on the fans and went to dinner for a couple of hours. By the time we came back it was much better, but that really was not exactly a pleasant experience.
The continental breakfast was quite good for hotel fare, enough that our kids were thrilled every morning. The hotel was pretty close to the beach and a good central spot for our trips to Big Basin Redwood Forest. We dealt with several members of the staff and all were helpful and accommodating. We did use the guest laundry facility and appreciated that it was available.
While we had a really rough beginning, overall this was a good place to stay and we ended up being glad we had a room we could all share rather than two separate rooms as we often need when we travel. less
