We booked a few months in advanced to the Best Western in New Smyrna. It is centrally located to multiple restaurants and grocery/convenient stores. The hotel itself is directly on the beach. With multiple views of the beach. There is a restaurant on the second floor, a small gym and a small pool.
We stayed in a suite/kitchenette that was perfectly set up for our needs. To nitpick, and what could have made it over the top perfect, was if the kitchenette had paper towels and basic S&P type condiments. And a toaster, but I can see why they may not put those out for use. We had one set back. We ordered food and had set some left overs on the counter and going back for seconds no more then an hour later we were overtaken with sugar ants!? Interesting and totally random, but it happens. So we tossed the food and wiped down the counter and we hadn't had any issues after that. We also didn't leave any food on the counter.
There are only 2 elevators in the entire building. A little strange but they did work fast so that was a plus. And being on the 7th floor with a toddler, taking the stairs wasn't an option for us.
The bed was so so. Not the most comfortable but not the worst we've had.
The cleaning crew was not around even at 2pm the first day we were there. Usually not an issue, but traveling with a toddler, we took a break from the beach to attempt
nap time, and had to wait for a cart outside to replenish our towels and trash bags etc- so we never got our room cleaned.
The balconies were tremendous. We had TWO to choose from. One bigger then the other. I enjoyed watching the sunrise and sunset each and every morning and night. The color of the skies were like shades of various cotton candy!!!!
The pool was a smaller pool, but still available and had showers near by for everyone to rinse the sand off. There was also a new deck built for everyone to walk on and overlook the ocean. Definitely a nice feature as well.
Parking was not an issue. A decal was given to ensure others weren't parking there inappropriately.
Despite a few things here and there that went popped up, we still would go back. The location and space we got for the money spent was worth it to us. The kitchenette was enough, although could have been a little more equipped. And as many of the cleaning crew they had working, and you could tell they were working hard, it was a little eh, that we hadn't had our room cleaned before we arrived back, but we managed. less
