We booked for a couple of nights over the Easter break and kept our fingers crossed for good weather! The hotel was lovely - the weather was not lol.
We arrived about 1.45pm and were advised that our room was not quite ready so we drove around for a while to get our bearings (and had an ice cream on the pier) Our room was really nice (312) it was on the top floor in the corner and looks like it had been recently refurbished. The bathroom was spotless as was the room and the only gripe I have is that it was only a double bed! When you're used to a king size at home it gets cosy lol. The staff were lovely and very helpful. We left the car in the hotel car park which was £2 per day and exit was controlled by a keypad - the code is on display on reception. Also Wifi was good and the code is given to you when you check in.
My husband took our son into the pool for an hour and they were the only ones in it. We ate out at the Coopers Dean Harvester the first night which was about 10 minutes away.
Breakfast was really nice, choice of cereals, fruit, yoghurt and the obligatory hot breakfast. Scrambled and fried egg, bacon, beans, sausage, hash brown, tomatoes - all freshly cooked. Brown and white bread, jams and marmalade and croissants and pain au chocolate. We also had hot cross buns!
As the weather wasn't playing the game we went to Castlepoint Shopping Centre for a wander and then went bowling. We went to the Bowlplex at Tower Park where there was also a choice of restaurants if you wanted. We chose to go for an Indian in Bournemouth and ended up at the Spice Lahore. The reception had recommended the Eye of the Tiger but paying £14 for a curry is not really what we wanted and the Spice Lahore was £6.50 and was a fab meal with great service. All in all we had a great weekend - shame about the weather but we will be back in the summer as the beach looks fab. less
