On a short solo break (Mon 4th-Fri 7th Sept.2017) here with a holiday group. Lovely welcome at Reception. Lift ridiculously small - only holds two people maximum - so at check-in etc., you could have a long wait if you need to get the lift. Bedrooms on three floors. I had double for single use, Room 317. Room, like the hotel a bit tired, but had usual tea-making facilities, hairdryer, no safe, iron/ironing board could be ordered from reception if required. Bed sublimely comfortable, and it was very quiet, a real bonus. Avoid 304 and 305 they're opposite the lift ! Bathroom was fine with shower over bath, but nowhere really to put sponge bag etc. Lovely large fluffy towels. Bedroom floor not hoovered daily. Food was good and nicely presented. The waiting staff were friendly and eager to please. Lounge areas were light and airy, and the ladies and gents facilities were scrupulously clean. I did not use the pool, but it all looked clean and bright. The seafront was about 15-20 minutes walk away. The lift down to the beach has gone - I believe it was the result of a landslide - so a zig-zag path down to the beach. Ok going down, but very steep to climb back up. The town centre was about 20-30 mins walk downhill. Shops were usual multiples with some individual ones.
But what made this hotel was the staff. I was ill most of the time I was staying, and the staff were fantastic, especially Katarina the manager. less
