Location is convenient to the 15 and Historic downtown. The lobby and breakfast area had a facelift in the last 10 years . . . but not the rooms or the other public spaces.
Let’s just say true cleanliness is not well understood here. The daily surface clean does not appear to include the floor around the toilet, nor the lamp stands with the ever necessary 120v plugs and lamp switches EVERYone touches (grimy in my room). Dusting includes major surfaces, but misses the artwork, mirrors, top of headboard, etc. Apparently furniture polish is part of the cleaning kit as the major surfaces were gritty dry. No, I’m not a clean freak, but once you notice a few things, the list grows fast:
The bottom of tub has been scrubbed so often, it has lost its intended color, the security peep hole has no cover, the door doesn’t latch without a manual push, etc, etc
The Fitness Center is not fit for a real workout. No water, no cameras for safety, no DVD player, no mats: just a treadmill, and unplugged elliptical and recumbent bike.
Laundry is 1 washer $2 and 1 dryer $1.50 to serve approx 100+ rooms.
Staff individuals are pretty friendly, but only the front desk has a full grasp of English.
Go see Downtown Frederick! Delightful during the Holidays less
