We had a good stay. Our room was made up each day. The air conditioner kept us very comfortable. The room refrigerator kept our items very cold and froze the ice packs we had brought with us. The breakfast buffet included bacon, sausage, eggs, Sara Lee thawed pastries, waffles, yogurt etc...typical of hotel buffets. The fresh fruit included apples, nice bananas, and oranges.
The downside was our bed covers were stained and the sheets looked aged with small stains which was gross and made me wonder if there had been trouble with bugs in the past. The bathroom was tiny, and the building is in the midst of a renovation. The management should make it clear to prospective customers that the exercise room is unavailable for customer use due to the remodel. This was a disappointment for me because I always enjoy working out when my husband and I travel.
This is the type of place that sports teams use when traveling for events, so you might see hoards of teens at breakfast. The rooms above us were a bit noisy with thumping and such due to such a group having a good time together during the evening hours.
The price was reasonable, and the hotel staff recommended we drive to the historic area instead of walking there. That was a good move since we were worn out after touring the lovely downtown area each day of our 4 day trip. Be sure to start at the Visitor’s Center to get coupons and advice on where to park.
The woman running the food service in the morning was very accommodating and let my husband get fresh coffee a little earlier 6:30. She was very friendly and nice.
Suggestions: Offer coffee or tea with real cream throughout the day and fresh cookies for when you arrive, and include sugar free yogurt at breakfast for your gluten free or diabetic customers. Invest in new beds and bed coverings as part of the remodel.
