We did not realize that the hotel was under renovation until we arrived. While renovations were only underway during business hours, we were there during the day to relax, and the noise from the next room and above made it difficult to watch television or to sleep in the next day. Upon checkout, I commented that we wish we'd known about the renovations when we made the reservation, and that the rate was a little steep considering that... the manager overheard and simply said, "Our website says that we're renovating." I booked online, but there's not a readily viewable notice about this -- it's under a Hotel News tab that I didn't even notice when reserving (and probably would not have clicked it if I did notice).
Our room was freshly decorated, with the bathroom sink outside of the bathroom (shower and toilet inside bathroom). Faucet configuration with bathroom sink was inconveniently placed. Mini-fridge with freezer compartment and small microwave in room, lots of towels provided. Blanket on bed was thin -- we had to add the blanket from the other bed. Nice large TV, but picture was slightly distorted and TV would occasionally fritz out for a few seconds then come back on.
We live not far from Richmond; we visited to do some shopping in Short Pump and visit our favorite coffee shop in Scott's Addition, so we thought we'd stay overnight between the two. Next time, we'll stay closer to Short Pump, as the area was located in a kind of sketchy area. We went to the Skeetz station that evening for gas (and maybe a snack), and I was unwilling to even leave the car while my husband was pumping gas due to two women approaching people as they entered/exited the shop (turns out they were aggressively selling men's cologne) and a male panhandler approaching people, too. less

I am very sorry to hear that you will not be returning after we are completed with our renovation. I apologize that you felt misinformed about the renovation. I have done our absolute best in notifying our guests including posting it on our brand website, having signs in our lobby along with a signature line on our registration card. We do allow any guests that do not feel comfortable to cancel.
I am sorry that the Sheetz had someone in their parking lot that did that to you. I have notified their management team so they may take necessary precautions with their security team.
Thank you for letting me know also about the television- i have contacted our provider so they may research the issue and assist us with getting their services upgraded.
We do wish you would return and I will send you an email with an offer for return. If there is anything more that I can do, please let me know by emailing me at Timothy@JPHospitality.com
