Stayed here with friends for the last 3 nights and enjoyed it.
The hotel was right in the town centre, handy for eating out elsewhere, and we were able to have 2 full days walking from and back to the hotel - nice not to have to drive.
The general quality of the hotel was higher than expected, the service was good and the little trimmings were also good e.g. botttled water in the room each day. The breakfasts were well up there, with choices of kipper and haddock for those that like them, even with a flask of whisky to put a splash in your porridge! Smoked salmon was one of many other alternatives to the big fry-up - definitely a top class breakfast!
My wife found the bed a bit hard, but I slept through it all, as usual. The car park was a bit tight - I feel we were lucky to get a space - but perhaps everyone managed after all.
Overall, a very good hotel with some nice touches - but not cheap. less
