The summer of football is upon us, which you would assume is cause for excitement across the country. But according to a recent Best Western survey, a mere 16% of people are excited about the football kicking off in June.

This lack of interest is even more prominent among the female population, with 93% of women saying that they are indifferent towards the competition.

In fact, women are just as excited about the return of the Great British Bake Off as they are about the football.

In order to help disinterested Brits and visitors escape the football this summer, Best Western Great Britain has created a handy footy filter to block those mentions and let you get on with enjoying everything that is great about Great Britain, without worrying about the score.

  1. Install our Chrome Extension
Given that our research shows just how uninterested the country is in this year’s summer of football, we’ve developed a simple tool that will censor any mentions of the tournament from online articles. Just head over to the Google Store and add it to your Google Chrome browser:

If you are a football fan, then the tool will also double up as a handy way to avoid any of the scores if you miss a game.

  2. Try our Scottish Friends
Sometimes the only thing for it is to get away from it all. Given that our friends north of the border didn’t quite make the cut this year, Scotland is the perfect destination for a football free zone in June and July. We’ve got 29 brilliantly different hotels in Scotland, all ready to welcome you for a summer stay.

And if Scotland isn’t your thing, don’t worry. Wales or Northern Ireland didn’t make it this year either, and we’ve got hotels there too.
