BMF Bike Show

Every May, over 80,000 bike enthusiasts head to Peterborough's East of England Showground for a weekend of bike-themed events and shopping. You can practically smell adrenalin in the air as you watch bikes whizz past in the BMF Show Arena.

Whittlesea Straw Bear Festival

Possibly England's strangest event, the annual Whittlesea Straw Bear Festival is held in the hamlet of Whittlesey. Flanked by elaborately dressed attendants, a man dressed as a straw bear is led through the village before his unusual costume is ceremonially incinerated.

Battle Proms at Burghley House

Burghley House

Burghley House was built between 1565 and 1587 by William Cecil, Lord High Treasurer to Queen Elizabeth I. Eighteen state rooms are opened to the public, full of national treasures including fine paintings, porcelain and furniture.
