Swamp Soccer World Championships

If you think mud and sweat make  a good weekend then mark the Swamp Soccer World Cup in your diary. Teams of six broach the mud for 24 minutes to compete for the ultimate prize, held in 2012 close to Inverness Airport.

Swamp Soccer emerged from Finland where cross-country skiers used swamps as a training ground during the off season. Since then it has evolved into a worldwide game played by imaginatively titled teams hell bent on extremely mucky action. Get together with five mates and choose a name to rival the likes of Real Mudrid, Dirtdee United or Ar-mud-geddon and let battle commence to be king of the bog.
