Hotels near the Brinkburn Priory
Set amidst the stunning scenery of inland Northumberland, Brinkburn Priory can trace its history back to the early 12th century, founded around 1135 as a house for Augustinian canons by William Bertram.
About ten miles north from Morpeth, the priory nestles in a bend in the River Coquet, and can remain hidden until you are actually upon it. The church was rebuilt between 1858 and 1868 and Brinkburn is the annual setting for Paul McCreesh's Brinkburn Music Festival, a boon for the church's fantastic acoustic.
