Trophy D’Ecosse
Now fully designated as a full ISU International for Synchronized Skating, the Trophy d'Ecosse returns to Dumfries Ice Bowl incorporating Sk8Scotland's Scottish Synchronised Skating Championships. Building up to the championships themselves are skate camps and workshops.
The Scottish take their skating seriously and claim the first ever all-iron speed skate in the world, made in Scotland in 1572. Short speed skating is held on a 111-metre track and speeds of up to 30mph can be achieved (this goes up to 38mph in long speed skating, on a 400-metre track).
