Kelham Island Museum

Located in one of Sheffield's oldest industrial districts, the Kelham Island Museum houses working machinery that recreates the sights, sounds and smells of the Industrial Revolution. Find out a about the steel industry and how it thrust Sheffield into the global economy.

On display is the mighty River Don Steam Engine, which once turned out steel plate, while on-site craftsmen use traditional skills to forge and grind cutlery and silverware.

Other highlights include the Story of Sheffield, which traces Sheffield's history from the Industrial Revolution to the 20th century.
