The Museum of Reading

Housed within the Gothic arches of Reading's town hall, the Museum of Reading contains a series of hands-on galleries and exhibitions displaying a fascinating range of objects giving visitors the opportunity to delve into the town's fascinating history.

Discover the story behind biscuit makers Huntley & Palmers, learn about the daily life and history of the once-splendid Reading Abbey or find out how the famous Reading Rock festival first started by viewing vintage photos and checking out the A-Z of bands. There is also a replica Bayeux Tapestry, a growing art collection and a packed schedule of temporary exhibitions.
