Just a stone’s throw away from Stoke-on-Trent, these beautiful and extensive gardens are well worth a diversion off the M6. Set within the Trentham estate, they’re spread across a huge 725 acres and are famed for the wide variety of activities available to visitors.
The Italian Garden is the undoubted main attraction of Trentham Gardens, with Tom Stuart-Smith - the Chelsea flower show gold medallist - having overseen the recent restoration and planting. The results are breathtaking, with vibrant colours towards the top of the garden. Then as you walk down towards the lake, the colours are more subtle and lighter - creating a visually stunning effect.
But it’s not just about horticultural delights. There’s so much to do at Trentham Gardens for visitors of all ages. The multitude of activities by the mile-long lake – including fairy trail, boat and train trips - mean that your whole family can enjoy a fun-packed day out with something to satisfy everybody.
