overnight stay on route to Scotland on a coach holiday

we were told two days before travel that the lift was out of action! on arrival staff were very helpful as I needed yo change rooms as cant use a bath. room change but am now on third floor with no lift and quite a few stairs. struggled downstairs t dinner - i had fish which came with one half of carrot and some wet tasteless veg - aubergine or courgette no one i asked knew, I think breakfast was self serve - I suppose I cant complain BUT beware when staying as the railway station is literally next to hotel - handy if you arriving by train or stopping over whilst travelling by train however I was woken up at 5am by the station announcements - the train now arriving on platform...etc. The staff cannot be faulted and were very friendly and helpful - hotel needs a lot of TLC and the lift to be reinstated. less

Outdated and broken
It's cheaper for a reason. Front desk staff pleasant. Didn't use any other facilities due to leaving very early. Very close to train station is a bonus, however very noisy if you back onto it. The lif... more
It's cheaper for a reason. Front desk staff pleasant. Didn't use any other facilities due to leaving very early. Very close to train station is a bonus, however very noisy if you back onto it. The lift was out of order which made it difficult for someone with mobility issues on the 2nd floor. less

Last minute booking due to being ill and unable to continue with my journey. The staff on duty (Kayley & Jack) were efficient, attentive & extremely helpful when I arrived. Having stayed in a number of other places in Carlisle previously, I found the comfort, cleanliness & facilities they provide is outstanding for this price range. Thank you! less

Shabby not chique

Hotel was nice and central but the noise was unacceptable due to poor fitting windows also, I was on the third floor and the lift was out of operation for my entire stay so lots of stairs to climb. There were holes in the carpet in the bedroom the quilt didn't cover the large bed and there were cobwebs all around the ceiling. Bathroom was serviceable but very tired. less
