Experience the wonder of Winchester!

The Winchester Royal Hotel, perfectly placed in the heart of Winchester City Centre itself, is ideal for short breaks, business trips and family stays. We have 85 delightfully decorated bedrooms to choose from, and we are the only hotel in the city centre to have a stunning walled garden within our grounds - perfect for summer dining or enjoying afternoon tea!

Our location and character make for a royally relaxing getaway whenever you visit. A former Bishop's residence and later a convent, the main part of the building dates back over 400 years and has been welcoming guests with open arms for over 150 years.

We have probably the best location in Winchester, if we do say so ourselves! The secret garden offers peace and tranquillity just 2 minutes from the main town centre, so you'll be nestled away from the hustle and bustle of Hampshire while close enough to enjoy all it has to offer.

Close to the New Forest for cycling, with Peppa Pig world less than 20 minutes away, the whole family can enjoy each others company in wonderful surroundings. There's lots of history for your little maids and knights to discover too, with Winchester being the home to King Arthur and his legendary Round Table!

Owner Response
GMWinchester, General Manager at Winchester Royal Hotel, BW Premier Collection, responded to this review
Dear Colin, Thank you for your review and I am sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction, we do include breakfast in our rates but if a "room only" rate is selected at the time of booking then that will not include breakfast, our restaurant pricing is based upon the quality of food and service aswell as our setting and we are competitive within the local area, I am not sure how to respond to your comment that we are " no good for a lower end guest" as Hoteliers we deal with people from all walks of life and the diverse range of clientele we welcome reflects that. I do hope your charity bike ride went well. Kind regards Louis Rigney
