Nice hotel but poor management

The hotel itself is really quite nice, the room was clean, and the breakfast was good. The breakfast staff were also really lovely (the only decent service we received during our stay).
The problem with this hotel is that the management need to provide proper training to all staff. We arrived at reception to check in and the staff on reception barely said good evening before thrusting a card machine at us. Not a friendly welcome at all and not what you expect for the price (which isn't particularly cheap).
We ate in the hotel bar/ restaurant , which was a big mistake. The food was extremely poor for the price (restaurant prices for microwaved food) and the staff were completely inattentive (the worst service I've experienced for a long time). I felt bad for them that they'd just been left to mange the bar and restaurant without any proper training. It's not their fault at all- management should train the staff to deliver service that matches the prices charged. less
