We had very little time (one day) in Oslo and wanted to cram in as much sightseeing as possible. This hotel's location is perfect for seeing centrally-located sites on foot.
We got to Oslo super early on the night sleeper train from Stavanger, walked from the train station to this hotel, and asked if we could store our luggage until check-in later in the day. The reception lady was so kind; she put us in a room that was already available and told us to go get breakfast if we were hungry. We were very thankful and astonished by her thoughtfulness and generosity.
When we had freshened up and eaten, she gave us great suggestions for spending our one full day in Oslo and directions to them. We followed her sage advice and had a most enjoyable day.
The room was great. The bed was comfortable, the linens and pillows felt, smelled, and looked clean. The bathroom was also spotless and the shower had strong water pressure. The hotel is on a main street, but there was no nightlife or traffic noise that disturbed sleep in our room.
The breakfast was quite good with a large selection of hot and cold foods well-presented and hot and cold beverages. The breakfast staff was attentive and polite.
The following morning the same wonderful lady at reception had ordered boxed breakfasts for us because we had an early flight to the US and had to leave before their breakfast was served. Such welcoming and thoughtful gestures were greatly appreciated!
Everything about this place (location, staff, breakfast, and room) was great, and if we're ever back in Oslo, we will definitely stay here again. less
