We received a warm, professional welcome upon arrival having booked a 2 night stay. The hotel is situated in a slightly odd location but does allow relatively easy access by car into Gloucester. You will find steps into and all throughout the hotel, as it is spread over a couple of levels, so as other reviews have stated, I can't say it would be suitable if you have mobility issues. All the staff we encountered were polite and friendly.
Our room was comfortable but in need of some TLC. The bathroom had peeling paint, no working extraction fan [we hadn't noticed until hubby twigged there was one in the roof] and a mouldy shower curtain. The most annoying thing was the noisy plumbing which continually crashed and banged when other rooms used the taps or flushed the loo.
The room seemed well cleaned until hubby spotted thick, low level dust along and under the radiator. The windows are also in need of better upkeep.
The one evening meal we had was tasty and decently presented and breakfast provided a good level of choice.
Overall this hotel suited our needs for a couple of nights but does not reflect the standards of other BW hotels we've stayed in. The staff do their best and we thank them for this but the fabric of the hotel needs work as this doesn't reflect the rates charged. less
