Well after our night out at the eccleston arms I am totally In Favour of a lockdown. Before I felt gutted for the food and drink industry but after what I have seen tonight I am appalled. We wanted to watch the match but knew we couldn’t have a drink without a meal. From the same household wearing our masks and socially distancing we spend over £72 on food and a few beers whilst surrounding by tables of piss heads with tables full of drinks and no food. The same people back and forward to the bar with no masks despite a sign saying “no bar service”. When the football was over the Steve Prescott sports bar next door emptied out with lots of young people obviously not from the same households, very few wearing masks with no social distancing. As a health care professional trying to adhere to the rules I think what’s the point. less

Dear LyndaL191,
Firstly thankyou for taking the time to leave us your review. I am sure you can imagine feedback is essential during this up and down period that we are all dealing with. I am sure you can imagine being a health professional how hard it can be at times to push and reiterate the roles and responsibilities required by the incoming public in all venues. We have put many restrictions in place like the one you mentioned, "no bar service" with visual aids starting at the front door and throughout the venue to try and implement the safest possible surroundings for both guests and staff. I am sorry to hear you felt you were surrounded by "piss heads", but I am going to have to disagree as everyone in our restaurant has to have a meal to drink. That being said this is the reason we have glass screens in-between our tables to separate each household as required by the most recent government guidelines.
All that being said, I do hope after this second lockdown we can all go back to enjoying some sort of normality in the bars and restaurants and we would love for you to come back a second time for a much better experience.
Kind Regards,
The Eccleston Arms Team
