I stayed here for two nights in a single room. The building is old and quirky and the lack of a lift and interesting twists and turns might deter some but all of that add to its charm. Located in the town centre, within walking distance of most things and just over the river from the Stump, the hotel is a delight.
Veggie food in the evening is reasonable and there are options beyond the traditional risotto. Veggie breakfast is also on offer, is plentiful and filling but cooked breakfast is £12.50, which some may balk at.
The staff are without exception friendly, helpful and unfailingly welcoming and cheerful. I cannot praise them enough
Almost forgot to say - there is a terraced area outside where it is possible to eat, watch the town gear up for the evening and generally chill less
