Having never been to Lincolnshire we decided to spend a few days in the area and plumped for the White Hart as our base.
The hotel couldn't be better location-wise...just a few yards from the main market square, the Boston Stump and overlooking the River Witham. Given this location, it's surprisingly quiet - pedestrian noise worse than vehicles. It's less than 5 minutes walk from the station too - handy as we went by train. There is parking, although most of it hidden at the back.
It is squeezed into its location, so the hotel is not huge. It's quite an old building too, so there are many levels. Quite a few short flights of stairs and no lifts so not suited to those with mobility issues. Reception area quite small.
We were in Room 200. This was quite a spacious room given the size of the hotel, although the three steps down as you enter nearly caught us out ! Shower only in this one. Bed was fine. Old fashioned in design rather than modern. Free wi-fi throughout the hotel ( take note Marriott).
Dining consisted of Riverside Restaurant ( breakfast is here) plus the Courtyard Bar which is full of sofas and is very relaxing. Bar sells Bateman's and Tom Wood's beer on draught.
Staff were all very courteous and we had no complaints.
The type of building that it's in means that the White Hart will never be 5 star but it makes the best of what it has. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it for a stay of a few nights. less
