This is quite an old building; some parts of it go back 300 hundred years or so. It's quaintly comfortable and welcoming. Car parking is at the rear of the hotel and the Sat Nav guidance works a treat. During our stay parking wasn't an issue. The reception was helpful, welcoming and friendly and there was always someone at hand to help with enquiries. Be warned! There are no lifts as the building is listed so if mobility or stairs pose a problem it's best to sort it out before you arrive or book. We chose to eat in the hotel during the evening. The food was good and freshly cooked with excellent service to boot! The same can be said for the breakfast. There was plenty of choice and my wife, who is a vegetarian, was served fish even though it wasn't on the breakfast menu. All this at no extra charge! Our room was small and on the second floor - quite a few stairs - and was clean and well-provided for. The bed could have been softer but all that comes down to personal taste. All in all, our stay was pleasant and well worth the money. less
