This hotel is in a very convenient location not far from the city centre with a frequent bus service stopping outside. There is also free private parking. The building itself is large Victorian, but could do with some refurbishment. Our room was a bit shabby, but spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed, good quality towels and limited toiletries. There is a lift, but due to the rambling nature of the building there are still stairs to many rooms. However ground floor rooms are available.
The restaurant offered a good buffet breakfast (hot and cold dishes) There is also a very good value three course dinner for £14.95, including a glass of wine.
Staff very friendly and helpful, especially "maître d". . less
