We booked this hotel as it was within walking distance to Nottingham city centre. The booking process was straight forward, we paid £96 for a double room with breakfast. Obviously a smile from the receptionist can not be bought for less that £100, so we had to suffer a sour-face young woman checking us in and mumbling something about breakfast and early morning calls. The room was an executive room, ok if you are staying over for business, but not really suitable for a couple kicking their heels up in Rock City. In fact, if you were there for business then you would have been disappointed as the wifi did not work in our room.
Breakfast was OK, but the young men working there were more interested in laughing and joking with each other than their guests.
When we went to checkout, the receptionist was on the telephone, so after waiting for 5 mins I caught her attention by pointing to the key and she responded by by tapping the counter and looking away. So I just left the key and walked off.
On the positive side, there was plenty of parking spaces, and the walk into the city is a an easy 15-20 minutes, or there are plenty of buses. less
