It's a three star full service hotel, with no claims to anything above that. I had a comfortable room and I slept well. Breakfast was exceptionally nicely done by Kathy and the Lady in White from the kitchen (didn't catch her name) thank you both. I have had breakfasts much worse than that at hotels that would claim to be a higher category.
Having said that, it is a 3 star. The decor is in tune with its surroundings, a slightly run-down suburb. The room was very noisy (street traffic and a loud extractor fan from somewhere).
Be aware that there aren't many alternative eating facilities nearby: the Caspian Pizza and the Bombay Brasserie being the main options. The in-house menu is the standard nowadays, burgers, steaks, chicken supreme, sea bass (I think). They don't publish a menu on line. (This seems to be Best Western policy.)
So all ok, I suppose; but for the same price I slept in a 4-star BW in the centre of Nottingham last week, so maybe this is a bit pricey.
PS they don't unlock the front doors in the morning, as I discovered as I walked from my annexe room and tried all three entrances, in the rain.
TripAdvisor will ask me how I rate the location in a minute. The answer is, if you have business in Acocks Green, the location is excellent. Otherwise, it's so-so. less
