The staff was pleasant and friendly. The room had modern furnishings with a microwave and large fridge. It had one of those useless hotel-only cup-at-time coffee makers though there is free coffee in the lobby.
We were placed in a basement room below ground (unusual) which made for a very dark and depressing room. To our surprise, we discovered after checking in that the hotel allows pets which meant our room had bad pet smells which they tried to hide with an overpowering plugin air freshener. The lobby and stairs area smelled awful (like vomit) each time we came and went to/from the room or the breakfast room. At night it was difficult to sleep (especially for kids) due to the noise of barking dogs all around us and loud noise in the hallways. Also the room walls are very thin and you can hear every sound from the neighbouring rooms - their TV, conversations, etc.
The pool area is ok. Oddly enough the change rooms for both male/female have no doors and are completely open to the pool area. If you want to change into a bathing suit you either have to do it in the open or in the toilet stall.
The breakfast was very good overall however somewhat inconsistent. The first day there was materials on the buffet for waffles but no waffle maker. On the second day there were waffles. Apparently some food, both at breakfast and in the lobby, is only on weekdays not weekends which is odd since there are more guests on weekends and rates are usually higher.
The location is right downtown though there's not much in the downtown area to take advantage of.
Overall this hotel was a disappointment - next time we will stay elsewhere. less

Thank you for your recent stay at the BW, we do appreciate the feedback on your stay and know that we are striving for customer satisfaction. We are a Pet friendly Hotel and we make sure that guests with pets stay in the pet wing so it is easier for them to go outside. We do not put non pet reservations in the pet wing unless the customer booked it that way, if we notice that they may have accidently done so we try our best to move them, sometimes we may not always are able to accommodate, we do strive to make everyones stay a comfortable one. We do hope that you will change your ind and give us another try.
