The Best Western Website states " Discover this newly renovated hotel in Wapakoneta " also enjoy a free hot breakfast. On my recent visit there with my wife I discovered neither.
My wife and I traveled 2 1/2 hrs. to Wapakoneta to see our granddaughter compete at the High School, and since it was going to end late decided to make reservations to spend the night and travel home the next morning. Our choices were the Best Western or the Holiday Inn Express. The Best Western was rated higher and newly renovated according to their own website.
Upon entering you could see a sign blocking the stairs with types of carpet being used, caution tape straight ahead where the breakfast area was. The young lady behind the desk was extremely friendly and explained the renovations going on. She also told us that due to, the renovations there was no hot breakfast in the morning. in its place, in the fitness room, there would be coffee , toast , bagels and frozen sandwiches which we could take back to our room and heat in our microwave. The next morning they were out of frozen sandwiches.
We booked the King room with the jacuzzi. Going down the hall to our room we had to walk around doors off hinges and tiles stacked on the floor. Our room was very clean, but did need updated. There were no USB ports in the room. The exhaust fan in the bathroom sounded like a 747 taking off, and it didn't have a switch of its own it worked off the light switch. Other than that we we happy with our room.
