My wife and I had been given a "Sparkling Afternoon Tea" as a present and turned up well over an hour early and were greeted by Sarah who assured us we were welcome and provided us with a coffee while she arranged with the chef for an earlier start. Very impressive.
After a short while, we were taken to the dining room and offered a choice of seating, taking a table for two by a window. The afternoon tea was impressive, with nice varied sandwiches, macaroons, scones, chocolate and lemon drizzle cake. There was a very nicely chilled glass of prosecco to finish.
The hotel was clean, nicely furnished and has nice grounds. The food concentrated on quality rather than volume, which you would hope for and everything was well made and presented.
Sarah could not have been more pleasant and there was no extra charge for the coffee we had while we were waiting, which again, was a nice touch of class. We have never been there before but would thoroughly recommend a visit. We will definitely be returning as we had such a pleasant afternoon there. less
