Although the Best Western is not on top of my list when it comes to my hotel choices in Truro, I still decided to give it a try when I had the chance to.
To be fair, the hotel seemed rather unimpressive appearence wise when I arrived. Lobby was slightly better, but I did not spend long in it nor did I really pay attention. Check in was great, I quite enjoyed chatting with the older lady that helped me at the front desk. My room was spacious and functional, although bland at the same time, just as expected. I also enjoyed the breakfast the next morning, although I can't work out why it is made to order only instead of a buffet, but I shall not complain as it was quite delicious beyond the regular buffet food.
Some problems that made me give a 2/5 - I was thrown off a little bit when I see the lady wrote down all my credit card information on my registration card at check in - I'm in no place to judge if this is the best practice business wise, which I don't think it is, but considering that all my personal and credit card information is now recorded in an unencrypted manner on the same page, and that I have not witnessed this in my past experience, I feel that there are changes to be made here. Also there seemed to be no real benefits of being Diamond Select minus the water bottles, as I was not offered an upgrade or a late check-out even when I asked for it.
Regardless of all the nice aspects I experienced at the Glengarry, I‘m intrigued to find out if their credit card procedure is changing. If not, I would not consider returning.
