We have never written a negative review on TA but our experience with this hotel has unfortunately created a first for us........
We stayed at this hotel in October 2019 on a Groupon deal and had a good stay which we reviewed at the time.
We booked to return in April 2020, again through Groupon, but due to Covid this was cancelled and we agreed with the hotel to rearrange to stay at a later date. After further delays due to restrictions we eventually booked for late September 2021.
Unfortunately, a few days before our arrival one of our party tested positive for Covid so was required to isolate (they actually required a short stay in hospital). We contacted the hotel who initially said that we could re-book a later date. However, they then changed their mind and said that due to previous delays (two of which were due to the hotel being closed, the other being due to travel rules in our home area), they would no longer honour our booking.
We found this attitude to be lacking in any compassion and empathy at such a stressful time, something made even worse when we had twice been flexible with them in the past.
We will now take our business elsewhere in the future and would warn anyone not to book anything that is not completely refundable. less
